On 01/03/17 at about 2147 hours (9:47pm), unknown offenders observed a 2017 Black Hyundai Sonata to be parked within the first handicapped stall of Walmart.  The trunk of Hawai’i license plate LGY-435 was inadvertently opened when the operator exited and went in to Walmart to shop.  He and his wife just arrived and came directly from the airport and had all of their luggage in the trunk.  The offender approached vehicle LGY-435 within a white four door sedan, possibly a Nissan with a spoiler, from the north side of the parking lot and parked directly behind LGY-435.  The offender exited the vehicle and grabbed the suitcases from the open trunk.  The offender then fled the parking lot on the main aisle toward Pakaula Street exit.  The total value of the items taken is $3150.00.  One of the victims was seated in the vehicle at the time and partially fell asleep, when she heard a noise coming from behind the vehicle.  She did not realize that the trunk was open and her property was being stolen.  The offender is believed to be a male, tall and thin, wearing a light colored long sleeve shirt and white or light colored multi print shorts.

Two small Ciao suitcases and a large Victorinox suitcase were stolen.  Within the suitcases was a new Acer 10” laptop computer, small silver Fuji camera, prescription Rayban sunglasses, clothing and medication.
